Here are some pictures and photos both old and new of some of the wonders of our wee city
 which while never the hottest, weather wise, is usually the warmest place on earth for a visit or to settle down.
Here is a little list of things to see and do
Edinburgh Castle if you dont do anything else touristy while in Edinburgh please do not miss a visit to this incredibably wonderful building. If you are moved by nothing else the views are fantastic.
The Royal Mile is a place of real history. Unfortunately it is full of tacky shops selling so call Scottish Souveniers ( mostly badly done, not made anywhere near Scotland and expensive for what they are ) but dont let this put you off as some people like them. The street is one amazimg spectacle after another and deserves a visit, even if it is just to compare our lastest ugly building, the Scottish Parliament, and one of the nicest old ones, Holyrood House

A visit to Princes St. is highly recommended. There you can see the
Scott Monument, wander through the lovely gardens and enjoy the view of the castle. Watch out for the pidgeons when the one o'clock gun goes off.
Amoung the nicest places to stay whilst visiting is the
Newington area of Edinburgh which boasts numerous excellent restaurants, cafes, bars and shops.
After reading the book or seeing the film a visit to
Roslyn Chapel is highly recommended. While you may not find the secret of the holy grail you will be rewarded with the memory of a wonderful building.
